I love the KISS principle, and the reason I love it so much is that I know that it works.
Whether it be in marketing strategy, copywriting, web design, content creation or anything where an individual is communicating to an audience, and hoping to achieve a desired result, keeping things as simple as possible will infinitely be more effective.
The days of showing off just how clever you are and expecting your audience to be impressed by this are long gone, as is communication that’s really just a thinly veiled sales pitch.
Your audience has seen it all before, and quite frankly, they’re probably sick of it.
The basic key to successful communication in this day and age is to understand what your target audience is looking for, and then delivering it in a simple and easy to digest manner. Always approach things from their perspective first – not yours. That is how you achieve the desired impact.
Short, simple and clear. (just like this blog post)
Keep this in mind next time you sit down to create something brilliant.
