Stop avoiding developing that strategy. Keep it simple and do it today.

I’ve found that the words ‘strategy’ and ‘strategic’ have had a bad rap over the past few years

There are probably a number of reasons for this.

I personally think that it was getting over used at one point there where everyone was describing themselves or what they do as ‘strategic’ without even knowing what the word meant.

Although, I think the main reason for this bad rap is that a lot a people I speak with find developing a strategy too hard and complicated, so sadly they’re missing out on all the benefits it can provide.

As soon as they hear words like goals, objectives, tactics, measurement and the like, their eyes soon start to glaze over.

Well, a strategy doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, the simplest strategies are often the most effective ones.

When a really simple strategy provides that central connection between different people both internal and external to the business and aligns them all, it can be a truly beautiful thing.


Don’t know where to start?

Well, let’s throw all the jargon out for a second, break it right down to the absolute basics and answer the following 4 questions.

  1. Who are you?
  2. Where are you today?
  3. Where do you want to go tomorrow?
  4. How are you going to get there?

Get out the white board and jot down your answers, and guess what? You’re now on your way to creating an effective strategy for your business.

It’s that simple.
