To advertise or not? That is a question that a lot of businesses are asking themselves this week.
The only thing that is certain is that we are all trying to navigate our way through unchartered waters during completely unprecedented times, which means that nobody really knows what the outcome will be.
However, when it comes to the above question, my take is that if you can still deliver your product or service and it can help people, or make them feel better, then why not promote it?
Despite the spiraling unemployment that sadly is a reality for a lot of industries right now, don’t forget that millions of people are still working and still earning the same wage.
We may not be able to go on a holiday, go out to eat, or attend sporting events, but what we can do is make purchases online.
And, with so many leisure activities cancelled, people are purchasing more of the items that they can online, which can present opportunities for any business that is in a position to satisfy this demand.
If someone makes a purchase from you, it is helping to keep your business alive while supporting your workers and their families. So, please don’t feel bad about it.
Just make sure that you adjust your marketing messages to ensure that they are appropriate for the current environment, and positively utilise this time when people are more available (in a remote capacity) to initiate conversations and connect with them.
What this means is that being visible is very important right now.
